Californian company recalls uninspected meat products

Vatran's Fine Foods Inc., based in Tracy, Northern California, is recalling 11,500 pounds of meat products because they were not inspected, according to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Products by the company were distributed to retail stores in the San Joaquin Valley packaged under the Vatran brand and under the Montibella Sausage Company brand, said federal officials.

So far there have been no reports of illnesses associated with the products, said officials.
