China's BBCA Biochemical resumes lysine production

BBCA Biochemical Co. Ltd announced on Tuesday (Oct 16) that it has completed repair works at its plants located in the Huai River Basin, which were affected by floods in July.

The Anhui province-based company added that it had also upgraded its lysine production facilities and will be resuming production of the feed additive.

Market traders mentioned that higher lysine prices lately may also be a factor that prompted BBCA to decide on resuming lysine production.

Citing market factors such as intense competition, BBCA said that production of monosodium glutamate will remain suspended.
