Prices continued to fall.
 
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine slid to the range of RMB7.60-8/kg. Average prices fell by RMB0.33/kg to RMB7.87/kg.
                                                   
Price quotes of 70-percent lysine fell to the range of RMB4.80-5/kg.
 
For imported 98.5-percent lysine, transacted prices were at RMB9.80-10.50/kg.

Market analysis

Demand for lysine was s Lysine prices continued to fall during the week ending October 17.
 
Demand for lysine was slow with feed production remaining limited, and sliding soymeal prices discouraging feed millers from stockpiling the product.

Average prices fell by RMB0.33/kg to RMB7.87/kg.

In Europe, price quotes for Q4 deliveries fell to around EUR1.25/kg. For January deliveries, price quotes of Chinese products were mainly in the range of EUR1.10-1.15/kg.
 
 
Market forecast              

Lysine prices are expected to fall further with feed production unlikely to pick in the near term, and soymeal market staying weak. Furthermore, a weak export market will compel producers to clear stocks domestically, hence resulting in strong competition.
