Kazakhstan opens new poultry meat plant in Ust-Kamengorsk
 

 

Aitas-MP, a new poultry meat processing plant, was launched in the Kazakh city of Ust-Kamengorsk, Asylzhan Mamytbekov, KazakhAgriculture Minister reported on Monday (Oct 14).

 

Some KZT1.779 billion (US$11.6 million) were invested in the plant construction, including KZT608.8 million (US$4 million) own funds, and KZT1,170.2 million (US$7.6 million) borrowed from commercial banks.

 

The plant's design capacity hit 12,000 tonnes annually. The plant will produce over 150 kinds of foodstuff including red meat and poultry meat products, sausages, deli and convenience food.

 

Kazakh enterprises processed 264,000 tonnes of meat in 2012 (24% increase compared to 2011). Kazakhstan's meat and meat products exports amounted to 3.7 million tonnes in 2012.

 

Around KZT29.7 billion (US$193 million) will be allocated to meat processing development in Kazakhstan by 2020, the Agriculture Minister said.
