Russia to allow a dozen more Ukrainian companies for meat and diary exports
Russia would expand the number of Ukrainian meat and dairy enterprises allowed to export to Russia this week, Ukrainian Agriculture Policy Minister Yuriy Melnyk told journalists in Kyiv following a trip to Moscow.
The minister said 12 more companies could be added, boosting the total to 33.
Melnyk said two poultry plants, five meat plants and five dairies would be granted permission on Wednesday or Thursday to export their goods to Russia.
Another 10-15 Ukrainian plants inspected by Russian officials would have a good chance of receiving permission in the near future, he said.
Russia banned livestock imports from Ukraine early last year due to problems with the Ukrainian veterinary service.
