Thailand reports bird flu in wild sparrows
Local authorities from Thailand's Ratchaburi province said one of 300 samples from wild sparrows there, tested positive for the highly pathogenic H5N1 strain of bird flu.
In response, nearby poultry farms were tested and disinfectants applied within a five-kilometre radius of the affected site.
The samples originated from Ban Khao Ngaem village in Ratchaburi, about 95 kilometres west of Bangkok.
