Beef and pork prices sizzle in Kentucky
 

 

Beef and pork prices have increased by more than 10%, and 6%, respectively, in the US state of Kentucky, according to a local report.

 

It marks the third consecutive quarter in which beef and pork prices have climbed, with both categories at all-time highs in the Marketbasket Survey's history.

 

Kentucky is the largest beef producer east of the Mississippi River. It has more than 1.1 million head of cows and more than 38,000 cattle producers, according to the Kentucky Cattlemen's Association.

 

Nationwide, beef and pork prices have risen by more than 15% and 12% year-on-year, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
