Ukraine's 2011-12 oilseed exports up to 2.83 million tonnes

Ukraine's oilseed export volumes increased 2.4 times from 1.17 million tonnes in 2007-08 marketing year to 2.83 million tonnes in 2011-12 marketing year.

The reporting growth was primarily provided by the activated supplies of Ukrainian soy and rapeseed in terms of growing needs of the global market.

Thus, if since 2002-03 marketing year (MY) to 2006-07 MY, the average annual exports of the reporting crops totalled 677,000 tonnes only, but in the period since 2007-08 MY to 2011-12 MY the figure reached 2.6 million tonnes.

Soy demonstrates the most significant growth of export volumes of Ukrainian oilseeds during recent seasons, which delivery volumes on foreign markets from September 2011-August 2012 totalled 1.34 million tonnes. The reporting indicator exceeded the result of 2010-11 MY (989,000 tonnes) by 35%, and the volume exported from Ukraine five years ago, in 2007-08 MY (190,000 tonnes) - up six times.
