Russia's meat production up 7.8% in Jan-Sep 2012

In the first nine months of 2012, Russia's production of meat and by-products totalled 932,000 tonnes, an increase of 7.8% on-year.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, poultry production increased 16.3% to 2.5 million tonnes and sausage products output went up 1.8% to 1.2 million tonnes.

At the same time, the production of fish and fish products fell 1.5% to 2.7 million tonnes, while milk and yogurt output grew 8.2% and 5% respectively, to four million tonnes and 823,000 tonnes.
