Romania affected by new outbreak of Newcastle disease
Romania has been hit by a fresh outbreak of Newcastle disease.
The outbreak was reported by Dr Niculae Lazar, General Sanitary Veterinary Directorate, National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (NSVFSA) in Bucharest, Romania.
In total, there were 216 cases, resulting in 212 deaths, with 533 birds susceptible.
About 105 birds were destroyed as a result.
The cause of the Newcastle disease outbreak is unknown.
