Akzo Nobel builds new plant in Ningbo, China
Akzo Nobel Co. Ltd last week announced plans to invest in Ningbo's chemical-engineering industry through three major projects on ethylene oxide/ ethanolamine, chelating agent, and fibrin items.
The projects are expected to strengthen Ningbo's standing in the field as more chemical companies congregate in the area.
Dutch-based Akzo Nobel is a global supplier of agricultural and industrial products with revenue reaching EUR 13 billion in 2005. Ningbo has attracted a number of large-scale chemicals enterprises in recent years and is applying for national-chemical-production base status.
Akzo Nobel is currently working with Ningbo's port authorities and Zhenhai Petrochemical Co on the three projects to help build Ningbo as one of the world's largest industrial chemical base.
