Gavilon Group appoints new president and CEO

The Gavilon Group has appointed its chief operating officer, Jim Anderson, as its new president and chief executive officer.
Anderson replaces Greg Heckman who leaves Gavilon after 30 years with the company.
A press release from Gavilon says Heckman played a crucial role in the sale of ConAgra Trade Group and the formation of Gavilon. For five years, he pursued an aggressive growth strategy for the company, in light of the global economic downturn, and firmly established Gavilon as one of the top Grain Majors in the US.
Anderson brings a wealth of industry experience and international expertise to his current role. Before joining Gavilon in 2010, he was chief executive officer and member of the board of directors at United Malt Holdings (UMH), where he drove innovation across its seven companies to increase shareholder value.
