CEO and president of Bright Food (Group) Co., Ltd. (Bright Food), Cao Shumin, says that the company is expanding its overseas market, and aims to increase its overseas revenue from 15% to 25% by 2015.
Cao adds that the company will focus on markets in politically stable and business friendly regions, especially in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
In 2012, Bright Food's sales revenue from overseas markets reached RMB14.694 billion (US$2.41 billion), accounting for about 15.38% of the company's total income.
Bright Food develops seed breeding, ecological agriculture, and produces dairy cattle, rice vegetable, pork, aquatic and dairy products. It also owns 3,300 retail outlets for food distribution in China. Besides food processing, the company also engages in real estate, service, tourism, and urban industries.
