A joint Russia-Canada beef livestock consulting centre opened in Russia's Orenburg region this week, which will allow Russia's beef industry to benefit from Canadian expertise in husbandry for the first time.
"The opening of the first and so far sole consulting centre for the development of beef cattle breeding is an important event," Orenburg Region Agriculture Minister Sergei Solovyov said Monday (Oct.15) at a Russia-Canada business forum. "This centre will work not only for the [Orenburg] region but for all the regions of Russia and Kazakhstan."
The centre will provide training for Russian specialists to use Canadian expertise in raising purebred cattle to increase the efficiency and quality of beef production in Russia.
