South Korea's Jan-Sept corn imports down 25 percent on-year
South Korea, the world's third-largest corn buyer, reduced Jan-Sept corn imports by 25 percent from a year earlier to 5.4 million tonnes, industry data showed on Thursday (Oct 15).
Corn imports for feed production, which account for around 80 percent of the total, dropped 28 percent to 4.37 million tonnes, according to customs data.
Imports of food-grade corn also fell 12 percent to 1.04 million tonnes.
