China milk officials propose to set up milk pricing system
A pricing system for milk should be set up to ensure fairness for dairy farmers, according to officials from the China Milk Association.
Milk prices are currently decided by dairy companies, with dairy farmers having no say.
The proposal suggested that prices should be decided jointly by dairy companies, industry associations, dairy farmers and government departments.
In addition, the proposal suggests an independent third party should examine the price and quality of milk.
