UAE suspends poultry imports from Russia over avian flu fears
The United Arab Emirates has suspended imports of live poultry and birds from Russia.
The UAE's Ministry of Environment and Water issued the order after chickens, geese and ducks in southern Russia were found infected with the highly pathogenic avian flu virus.
According to an Al Ittihad newspaper report, the ban will cover by-products and offal with the exception of cooked meat.
