Kazakhstan 2009 harvest reaches 22 million tonnes
                       


Kazakhstan's grain harvest so far this year has reached 22 million tonnes, the Agriculture Ministry said Tuesday (October 13).

 

The ministry said previously it expected this year's grain harvest to be 17 million-17.3 million tonnes in clean weight.

 

Kazakhstan planted grain for this year's harvest on 16.3 million hectares, including wheat on 13.9 million hectares.

 

In 2008, Kazakhstan harvested 15.6 million tonnes of grain in clean weight.
