China threonine prices remain firm; higher prices for imports
An eFeedLink exclusive report
Threonine prices in China generally remained firm in recent days, but showed no signs of strengthening further. This was mainly due to increasing lighter trade and a slight improvement in the previously tight supply situation.
One local producer in Guangdong province gradually raised its production volume recently, which helped increase overall market supply.
Meanwhile, shipment arrival volumes by one major foreign producer were also significant.
Recent offer prices of imported threonine were generally in the range of RMB42-45/kg, with some deals concluded between RMB40/kg and RMB42/kg. Many feed millers were reluctant to purchase at any higher prices.
Although prices of locally produced threonine remained firm in recent days, with offer prices in the range of RMB36-38/kg, further significant gains were seen unlikely. With feed millers generally making only small volume purchases at transacted prices of between RMB35/kg and RMB37/kg, buying activities which were active during the earlier period have slightly slowed down in recent days.
