China methionine prices surge as supply shortage shows no signs of easing

Prices of methionine increased prominently during the week ending October 12.

The availability of methionine remained tight as imports were insufficient. Suppliers continued to lift price quotes as there was news that supplies will continue to stay limited in Q4.

Liquid methionine suppliers halted price releases with limited stocks to offer.

Methionine prices will continue to move higher despite softer demand during October due to diminished feed consumption.
