China's Heilongjiang on track for bumper crop
Northeastern Heilongjiang province, the largest state-owned farming area in China, is forecasting a seventh consecutive record grain harvest, with output likely reaching 18 million tonnes, according to reports.
Sown acreage in the Heilongjiang Reclamation Area, one of China's top three grain-producing areas, is up 6% compared with last year, said the governing agency.
Harvesting in the area is running 12 days ahead of schedule, the agency added.
