If the Romanian manufacturers meet the Russian market's requirements, Romania is likely to export meat and milk to the Russian Federation.
According to the release Romania's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) sent to Agerpres, on Wednesday (Oct 10), following the talks between the Romanian Minister of Agriculture Daniel Constantin and his Russian counterpart Fyodorov Nicolai Vasilievich, Romania reached a very important accord with Russia on the commercialisation of meat products on the Russian market.
Russia's Agriculture Minister promised that starting November this year, the Russian sanitary veterinary authority will begin inspecting the Romanian meat and milk processing companies that are interested in exporting to the Russian market, to check out how the latter meet the Russian market's sanitary veterinary requirements. This is to allow the Romanian manufacturers to enter the Russian market that has a huge consumption potential.
During the talks with his Russian counterpart, Minister Constantin also approached aspects the Romanian food processors and businessmen deputised in the delegation accompanying him are interested in. Thus, their interests aim the farming and food sectors, as well as the fertiliser's trade.
Romania's official delegation headed by Romania's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Daniel Constantin has been paying a working visit to the Russian Federation on Wednesday and Thursday (Oct 10 and 11). The Romanian delegation includes State Secretary Achim Irimescu and a group of Romanian business people, presidents and general managers of companies such as ValVis Holding, Cargill, Cristim, Prodlacta, along with the vice-president of the Romanian Pork Producers Association.
