Over the past one month, the prices of several kinds of fertilisers in the Mekong Delta such as urea, NPK, DAP have decreased more than VND20,000-90,000 (US$0.96-4.3) per bag depending on type.

In early October, the price of fertiliser in the world market tends to reduce with the plentiful supply and weak domestic consumption caused fertiliser prices these days continue to decline slightly.

Specifically, the price of Chinese DAP, green nuts, has dropped from VND600,000-620,000 (US$29-29.7) to VND525,000 (US$25.2) per bag, black seed DAP also decreased from VND450,000-470,000 (US$21.6-22.6) to VND400,000 (US$19.2) per bag. It is forecasted the abundant domestic fertiliser will be enough for production for autumn and winter, winter and spring of 2012-13.
