Denmark's consumer council calls to label meat from GMO-fed animals
The Danish Consumer Council is calling for the government to allow labelling of meat that comes from animals fed on GMO feed.
According to a new survey by FDB Analyse, seven out of 10 Danish consumers do not know that Danish animals eat GMO feed at the same time as many Danes are skeptical towards GMO.
Danish Food Minister Henrik Høegh says he is not prepared to pass laws for labelling meat that comes from animals fed on GMO feed as the use of GMO feed cannot be measured in meat or in eggs.
