Russia will increase poultry production 14 percent on-year to 2.5 million tonnes in 2009, according to Vladimir Fisinin, president of the Russian Poultry Union, on Friday (Oct 9).

Poultry production increased by 200,000 tonnes from January 1 to now, as compared with the same period last year, said Fisinin.

Egg production is expected to increase four percent on-year to over 39 billion eggs in 2009, he added.
