Tyson to expand Indiana poultry processing plant
Tyson Foods plans to expand its poultry processing plant in Corydon, Indiana, as chicken deboning lines from Arkansas and Missouri will be moved to the complex.
The company will invest US$626,000 in new equipment for the deboning lines, and the expansion is expected to add 78 new jobs.
The facility is starting to ramp up the new production line and anticipates full production by early December.
The decision is made so that Tyson could discontinue shipping certain chicken cuts to outside plants in other states for deboning, according to David Whittington, complex manager for Tyson Foods.
