China's soy imports up 8.8 percent

 

 

China's soy imports rose 8.8 percent on-year in the January-September period to 21.25 million tonnes, preliminary data provided by the General Administration of Customs indicated Thursday (Oct 12).

 

In September, soy imports were at 1.79 million tonnes, it said.

 

China's corn exports to date dropped significantly this year, falling 68 percent from last year. China's corn exports reached 2.29 million tonnes so far this year, with only 10,000 tonnes exported in September.

 

The customs department did not provide on-year changes for the month of September.
