Brazil exports more processed beef from January to September 2005
Brazil exported processed beef worth US$429.4 million from January to September 2005, up 20.7 percent from US$355.6 million during the same period in 2004, according to the Brazilian Association of Meat Export Industries (Aboec).
The US imported the most processed beef at US$125.5 million during the first nine months of this year, down 12.7 percent year-on-year.
The UK came in second at US$101.3 million, up seven percent compared with the same period the previous year. Venezuela followed at US$34.2 million, up 210 percent year-on-year.
From January to July this year, Brazil exported US$4.4 billion worth of meat, up 34.5 percent year-on-year. For the same period, Brazilian agribusiness exports totalled US$24.2 billion, up 9.1 percent from US$22.2 billion during the same period last year.
