German firm builds US$10.4 million dairy farm in north-eastern Bulgaria

 

 

German firm "Pol Agrar Company" started the building of a dairy farm worth BGN15 million (US$10.4 million) in the municipality of General Toshevo, in Dobrich Province, in north-eastern Bulgaria.

 

This is the second consecutive major investment in the province of Dobrich in animal husbandry, said Deputy Mayor for Economic Activities Ivaylo Manushev.

 

The dairy farm will be located on an area of ​​170 acres and will have a capacity of 2,000 cows, especially focusing on the Bulgarian Black spotted cow. The animals will have five barns and a separate room for their veterinary care.

 

The first of five barns should be ready by January 2014, according to the plans of the investor. The farm will launch its work from January and will employ 30 people from the area.
