Russia ships nearly 8.1 million tonnes grain in Jul 1-Oct 2

 

 

Since the start of the agricultural year that started on July 1-October 2, Russia exported almost 8.1 million tonnes of grain.

 

According to the Agriculture Ministry in a statement Wednesday (Oct 10), in September, Russia exported 3.156 million tonnes of grain, including 2.440 million tonnes of wheat and 507,000 tonnes of barley.

 

Average purchase prices of the third class wheat in the Central Federal District rose 1.42% within September 20-October 1 to RUB8,372 (US$269) per tonne; in the Southern Federal District by 8.38% to RUB9,217 (US$296) per tonne; and in the North Caucasus Federal District by 4.08% to RUB8,610 (US$276) per tonne.

 

In the Volga Federal District, the price of third class wheat fell 0.72% in September 20-October 1 to RUB8,007 (US$257) per tonne.

 

The Agriculture Ministry expects Russia's grain export potential at 10 million tonnes in 2012.
