Russia imports more meat
 

 

Russian meat imports rose 14.6 percent in volume in the first eight months of 2007, compared to the same period last year, Russia's Federal Customs Service said.

 

Russia imported 840,600 tonnes of meat (excluding poultry), worth an estimated  US$2 billion from January to August.

 

For 2006, about 733,000 tonnes were imported, worth $1.512 billion.
