South Australia's poultry meat exports to increase tenfold

South Australia's poultry meat exports is targeted to increase by more than ten times to AU$500 million under a new 10-year strategy launched by the state government.

The state's Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Minister Rory McEwen said that this is a realistic goal and is likely to result in an additional 1,200 jobs.

South Australia currently exports AU$40 million worth of poultry meat annually, and its poultry meat industry has seen sustained growth over the past 20 years with an average national per capita consumption growth of 5 percent, according to McEwen.
