Brazil estimates unchanged cost for pig and poultry production

After two months of costly pig and poultry production, Embrapa Swine and Poultry of Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, estimates unchanged costs in September 2012.

Poultry had a variation of 0.41%, reaching 184.26 points, whilst pig increased by 0.25%, reaching 183.56 points.

During the year, production costs of chickens and pigs accumulated to highs of 37.59% and 28.23%, respectively.

In September, poultry was influenced by small variations in input prices for feed. Input prices for bed and heating, such as wood shavings and wood, decreased by 13.57% and 2.8% respectively.

Already in the pig sector, the small variation is due to the stabilisation of the price of corn and soy meal during the period.
