Thailand's CPF to help West Sumatra build day-old-chick industry
Thai food giant Charoen Phokphand Foods (CPF) is planning to build a day-old-chick (d.o.c) industry in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
The building of the facility will begin in the beginning of September this year and will cost more than Rp75 billion (US$8.2 million), an official said.
Construction would start latest by late 2007, the head of the West Sumatra Husbandry Office Edwardi MM said.
So far, West Sumatra had bought d.o.cs from neighbouring provinces, including North Sumatra, to meet demand from hundreds of poultry breeders.
