Japan detects more US Bt-10 corn
Japan's government has detected a twelve shipment of unapproved US Bt-10 corn. The cargo arrived on September 10 at Kashima port near Tokyo.
In response, the government has ordered the importer to immediately destroy the unapproved biotech corn or return them to the US.
Since May this year, the government has been testing all incoming US feed corn cargo for Bt-10. Japan has a zero-tolerance policy on imports of unapproved GM crops.
