Taiwan lifts ban on China corn feed until end-March
The Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA) said it has temporarily removed its ban on Chinese corn imports which the country mainly uses as an animal feed.
The ban, previously imposed as a measure to contain inflation, was lifted from October 1, 2007 but imports of China-made corn feed will be allowed only until March 31, 2008, according to the ministry's statement.
Other measures in place to curb inflation included a demand for government-owned industries to scale down their exports of raw materials.
The government has said it will seek measures to meet domestic demand for raw materials.
