FrieslandCampinastrengthens sales and distribution network in Italy

Royal FrieslandCampina has signed an agreement to acquire the activities of  Italian company DEK Srl and 80% of the shares of Orange Srl.

Thistransaction reinforces the position of FrieslandCampina in the Italian cheese and butter market and further boosts its market position. Italy is one of the largest markets in the European Union for semi-hard cheeses.

For several years, DEK Srl has been FrieslandCampina's dedicated sales agent in Italy for cheese and butter, serving customers in the retail, food service and business-to-business channels. Orange Srl provides a broad portfolio of cheeses and cheese-related products to retail and specialty food stores across Italy.

Orange Srl will maintain its identity in the Italian market, while the DEK Srl business will be integrated into a newly incorporated FrieslandCampina entity.
