Russia's grain exports reach 7.5 million tonnes in Jul-Aug 2012
Since the beginning of 2012-13 agricultural year on July 1, 2012, Russia's grain exports have amounted to 7.5 million tonnes.
Russian Grain Union head, Arkady Zlochevsky told reporters on Thursday (Oct. 4) that exports has sharply plummeted in the last week of September. Less than 2.7 million tonnes were exported in September, below the forecast of three million tonnes. He expects grain exports to reach two million tonnes or 2.5 million tonnes in October and 14-15 million tonnes in the current agricultural year.
According Zlochevsky, grain output stands at 68 million tonnes year-to-date, with about five million tonnes to six million tonnes expected to be harvested in the remaining months of the year.
