US 2007/08 corn crop at 13.506 billion bushels, soy at 2.647 bushels: Informa
Private analytical firm Informa Economics estimated 2007-08 US corn production at 13.506 billion bushels, with a yield of 158.1 bushels per acre, traders said Friday (October 5).
The firm estimated US 2007-08 soy production at 2.647 billion bushels with a yield of 42.1 bushels per acre.
In the September supply-and-demand report, the US Department of Agriculture estimated US corn production at 13.308 billion bushels with a yield of 155.8 bushels per acre. Soy production was estimated at 2.619 billion bushels with a yield of 41.4 bushels per acre.
On October 12, the US Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release updated US corn and soy estimates at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
In 2006, US corn production was 10.535 billion bushels yielding 149.1 bushels per acre, with soy production at 3.188 billion bushels and a yield of 42.7 bushels.
