Kazakhstan's first batch of meat exports shipped to Russia

Kazakhstan's Crown Batis completed its first shipment of 20 tonnes of beef to Russia's Moscow Trade House, raising Kazakhstan's hope that the meat industry in the country will grow, along with increased exports of beef cattle.

The conclusion of the contract was preceded by a meeting in July of this year. During the negotiations, problems of Kazakhstan producers with the Russian market, in particular, the distribution networks of Moscow were discussed. During the meeting, Kazak meat was recognised for its nutritious properties and superior flavour, which can be positioned in the Moscow market of Russia as premium class production.

Crown Batis along with KazAgroProdukt, a livestock company established by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, have constructed a feedlot designed for the housing of 8,600 head of cattle. The facilities also include modern refrigeration systems and a feed mill. Canadian technology allows for the production of environmentally friendly products.

According to Evgeny Aliyev, the director of Crown Batys LLP, its feeding places contain more than 4,000 heads of cattle. At present within the existing contract with one of the Russian logistic companies, about 40 tonnes of the cooled meat is shipped to Samara.

Crown Batys also said that before the year ends, the Kazakhstan enterprise intends to send about 20 tonnes of meat to Moscow weekly, in the form of chilled semi-hulks, and also cuts in vacuum packing. Guaranteeing quality production soy, Evgeny Aliyev stated readiness to act as the supplier of meat of a premium class and for the Moscow Kremlin.

For 2011-12, Kazakhstan created 35,200 feeding places, from which 17,700 was allocated for Kazagro National holding. For the same period it created breeding farms on 30,000 heads of KRS from which 22,700 heads are delivered with assistance of "Kazagro". In 2013, JSC Kazagrofinance, the country's subsidiary of holding approved demands of cattle breeders, approved the financing of acquisition of 12,100 heads of breeding cattle. Thus, the company considers demands for acquisition of additional 9,400 heads of the cattle meat.
