Russia's September beef imports down on-year, pork goes up

Russia imported US$211.5 million worth of beef and US$181.7 million worth of pork in September, 6.8% less and 20.8% more than September 2009, respectively.

But as compared with August beef, the value is up by 19.9%. For pork, imports also rose by 14.5% in August, the federal customs service said Wednesday (Oct 6).

Tonnages were not provided for either.
