Russia poultry imports down 29 percent in Jan-Aug

Russia imported in January-August 556,500 tonnes of poultry, 29.4-percent less than in January-August 2008, the federal customs service reported Wednesday.

The poultry imported in January-August was worth US$615.3 million.

The entire amount of poultry was imported from countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States.
