Sven Guericke appointed as new board member of Big Dutchman AG Vechta-Calveslage, Germany

 

 

Sven Guericke from Oldenburg has been appointed Member of the Board of Management of Big Dutchman AG. As of October 1, 2005, the 48-year-old graduate of agricultural engineering would be responsible for the areas of production coordination and logistics at the world market leader for feeding and housing equipment.
 
"With Sven Guericke, we have won another well-known expert for the Big Dutchman Group", said Chairman of the Supervisory Board Josef Meerpohl. "With his support, we are going to speed up and further develop our successfully started concept of the Big Dutchman logistics service centres around the world. At the same time, we will be making more room for strategic initiatives in other important business areas."

 

Sven Guericke had a lot of experience in the agricultural and food industry. In the past, he has worked in several top positions in production and logistics, as well as in purchasing and procurement. Mr Guericke has been working as managing board member of the highly renowned Nordmilch eG, Bremen up to now. Furthermore, the new Big Dutchman logistics board member has been a very committed honorary supporter of the agriculture and food business in Lower Saxony and especially the Weser-Ems region. He was also a member of the control committee of the Lower Saxony competence centre for the food industry (NieKe) in Vechta. 

 

The Board of Management of Big Dutchman AG is now composed as follows: Bernd Meerpohl (Sales & Development), Uwe Heider (Sales & Marketing), Kai Wehmeyer (Finance, IT & Administration) and Sven Guericke (Coordination of Production & Logistics).

 

For many years now, Big Dutchman AG has been regarded as a world market leader in the development and distribution of housing equipment and feeding systems for modern pig and poultry management.

The delivery range of the innovative family business included traditional installations, as well as computer-controlled feeding systems and equipment for climate control and exhaust air cleaning systems. The scope of supply and services ranged from the build up of small farms to the construction of fully integrated farm businesses. Big Dutchman AG offered its customers every possible option - from planning to implementation.

 

The history of Big Dutchman reached back to the year 1938 when the company founders invented the world's first automatic feeder in the US. Today, the company's headquarters is located in Vechta-Calveslage, Germany, where more than 350 of the approximately 1,000 employees worldwide work. The reliable systems of the well-established German business have been successfully used in more than 100 countries on all five continents.
