Informa sees US corn crop 11.151 billion bushels; soy at 3.206 billion bushels

 

 

Private analytical firm Informa Economics estimated 2006/07 US corn production at 11.151 billion bushels, with a yield of 155.2 bushels per acre, sources said Thursday (Oct 5).

 

The firm estimated US 2006-07 soybean production at 3.206 billion bushels with a yield of 43.4 bushels per acre.

 

In September, the US Department of Agriculture estimated US corn production at 11.114 billion bushels with a yield of 154.7 bushels per acre. Soybean production was estimated at 3.093 billion bushels using a yield of 41.8 bushels per acre.

 

On October 12, the USDA is scheduled to release its next US corn and soybean production estimates at 7:30 am CDT (1230 GMT).

 

In 2005, US corn production was 11.112 billion bushels yielding 147.9 bushels per acre, with soybean production at 3.086 billion bushels and a yield of 43.3 bushels.
