Argentina's Aug Soy Industry Stocks Fall 7% From Year Ago
Argentina's oilseed industry held soybean stocks totaling 2.47 million metric tons in August, the latest Agriculture Secretariat data show, down about 7% from 2.67 million tons a year earlier.
Soyoil stocks totaled 233,762 in August, virtually unchanged from 233,540 tons the previous year.
Stocks of soy pellets amounted to 724,988 tons, up 32% from 548,760 tons in August 2003.
SUNSEED STOCKS
Meanwhile, the industry held 200,163 tons of sunseed stocks in August. This is an 8.5% decrease from 218,688 tons a year earlier.
Sunoil stocks totaled 133,733 tons in August, down about 22% from 159,545 tons a year ago.
Finally, stocks of sunseed pellet in August were 81,783 tons, which is up 26.5% from the previous year, when pellets totaled 64,674 tons.
The following tables show Argentina's main oilseed stocks measured in metric tons as of Sept. 1. The data refer to stocks held by the crushing industry and don't include stocks in silos or unsold material held by farmers.
