US pork exports receives financial support from soy producers
The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council has decided to increase its financial support for pork exports by funding specific marketing campaigns in key markets such as Japan, Mexico and South Korea.
The initiative comes as the US pork industry continues to deal with difficult economic times, hence it is considered important to maintain a strong level of US pork exports, in order to restore profitability.
The council director Brian Greenslit said it is more important for soy producers to support programmes that will help improve the bottom line of their largest customer - the US livestock industry.
Greenslit added that promoting US meat exports is an excellent way for all sectors of US agriculture to work together towards a common goal.
