Brazilian beef exports hit record prices in September
The average export value of Brazilian unprocessed beef reached US$2,957/tonne in September, the highest price for Brazilian beef on record, according to Meat and Livestock Australia.
This was 6.7 percent higher than August 2007 and 6.9 percent above September 2006.
High international beef prices have helped lift the value of Brazil exports this year.
During the first nine months of 2007, Brazilian beef exports totalled 1 million tonnes, valued at US$ 2.6 billion. Compared with the same period in 2006, exports were up 13 percent in volume and 17 percent in value.
