Egypt's GASC buys 175,000 tonnes US, Canadian wheat
Egypt's state-owned General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) said Wednesday (Oct 4) it bought 175,000 tonnes of US and Canadian wheat, on a free on board basis, for shipment Nov 1-10.
Of the total, GASC bought 55,000 tonnes of US soft red wheat from Cenex Harvest at US$183.50 a tonne, another 60,000 tonnes of US soft red wheat from Cargill at the same price and 60,000 tonnes of Canadian soft wheat from Louis Dreyfus at US$182/ton, Nomani Nomani, undersecretary and vice-chairman of GASC, told Dow Jones Newswires.
GASC last bought wheat Sep 13 when it purchased 120,000 tonnes of US wheat.
