Australian export wheat to be stored for domestic consumption
Australia, one of the world's largest wheat exporters might have to consider diverting some of the grain earmarked for international sale to the domestic market owing to one of the worst drought in the country.
Australia would get a harvest this year but there had been a deterioration of the season last month, said Ian Dong, chairman of AWB International
The company might have to do with a considerably reduced export tonnage this time hoping to meet the domestic demand properly.
Donges also pointed at making silos available for livestock producers through their AWB Limited, with two sites already been opened.
Anticipating the ongoing demand, Donges said they were trying to identify sites to reserve grain for future livestock use.
