Vietnam receives Danish aid against bird flu
Vietnam recently received aid against bird flu from the Danish government, in the form of US$307,000 worth of anti-bird flu equipment and chemicals.
The aid was designed to support anti-bird flu campaigns in 49 Vietnamese provinces and cities. This was Denmark's second aid package to Vietnam and brought the total amount of Danish aid to the country to US$800,000 over the past two years.
Meanwhile, a mass disinfection campaign was carried out in some provinces in the Red River and Mekong River deltas, as well as in south-eastern Vietnam. This was to guard against the threat of bird flu outbreaks in winter.
The government said poultry quarantine stations would be set up in heavy traffic areas to monitor cross-province poultry deliveries.
